Women who suffer from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest are less likely to receive CPR from a bystander

Nearly 3,000 people have a sudden cardiac arrest every year in Singapore, and about 30% of these occur in public places rather than at home. Yet, women are less likely than men to receive lifesaving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from a bystander in a public location, Duke-NUS Medical School researchers have found.
