Stricter COVID measures associated with negative mental health effects, lower opinion of government’s pandemic response

Stricter pandemic policy measures—often implemented by countries that tried to control, rather than eliminate COVID-19—are associated with slightly worse mental health and lower life evaluations, according to two new studies reviewing data from 15 countries between April 2020 and June 2021, published in The Lancet Public Health journal.
